Important Updates

All Implanted devices need to be cleared prior to scheduling any MRI appointments.

  1. Obtain written documentation via fax / email about implant from caller
    1. Must have Implant Card or Operative Notes to clear an implant (unless MRI tech says otherwise)
    2. Exam ordered
    3. Location / Type of implant in the body
    4. Brand / Make / Model (all info available)
    5. Doctor who implanted the device (if available)
    6. Facility where device was implanted (if available)
    7. Year (or exact date) of implantation (if available)
  2. Email the implant details to AndersonImplants@medquestmail.com
      1. CC "AndersonScheduling@MedQuestMail.com"
    1. Always put the pt's name & MRN in the implant email subject
    2. If we have the order, Set CWF File Statuses to "Center to Call Patient"
    3. If it's your letter, handle the reply from the implant team!
  3. Implant Team (techs) review implant for safety, place Critical Clinical Alert on the MRN, & then reply-all to the original implant email
    1. Safe = schedule per instructions from Tech alerted on the MRN
      1. USE THE LETTER SYSTEM!
    2. Unsafe = inform pt / RDO we are unable to accommodate safely
      1. USE THE LETTER SYSTEM!
